This changes the shape of the plug. It does not change the voltage.

Most of the world runs 220–240V; North America runs 110–120V. Modern phone, laptop and tablet chargers are dual-voltage — check the fine print on the brick for "100–240V" and you are fine. Anything with a heating element or a motor often is not: hairdressers' tools, kettles, some breast pumps, some bottle warmers.

Plugging a 120V-only appliance into 230V through an adapter destroys it and can start a fire. Check every device before you travel. This is not a fault in this product — it is true of every travel adapter — but it is the mistake people make.
